DJ Irie - Biography
You can find him in the club, on the radio or spinning records courtside at the Miami HEAT home games… he currently controls the Miami “scene” on every level. Voted South Florida’s ‘Best Club DJ’ by the Miami New Times, Miami’s own DJ Irie is a force to be reckoned with.
What began as a childhood hobby, blossomed into a passion that runs in him so deeply that every ounce of energy Irie emits bares his soul. His passion is music, and his achievements in the industry are endless.
The official DJ of the Miami HEAT, Irie is known in the American Airlines Arena, by fans and players alike, for his immeasurable enthusiasm and ability to play the beats that get fans out of their seats. His energy is contagious, and for the fifth season in a row, Irie is steadily playing his position keeping the HEAT on fire.
In addition, DJ Irie’s record label, Irie Records, in conjunction with the Miami HEAT, NBA and WEDR 99Jamz will be putting out “Bring in the HEAT”, the official album of the Miami HEAT. A first of its kind, since no other NBA team has an official album, “Bring in the HEAT” will feature artists such as Trick Daddy, Pitbull and Fat Joe.
As DJ of the most listened to mix-show on Miami’s WEDR 99Jamz, DJ Irie spins his favorite records three days a week on “The Drive at 5”. He also holds the #1 weekend slot on Saturday nights from 10pm-12am with the “Saturday Night Thunderstorm”.
And since Miami’s club scene is the hottest in the country, who better to ignite the nightlife? DJ Irie is a mainstay at every exclusive, star-studded and noteworthy venue on and off South Beach such as: The Metro at Hotel Astor, Oxygen in Coconut Grove, Crobar, Club Mansion, Prive, and Opium Garden. DJ Irie’s DJ consulting firm, Artist Related, has also been named the exclusive entertainment company of Casa Casuarina (Versace Mansion).
But he doesn’t stop there. DJ Irie is well known around the country, as well as internationally, for his one of a kind talent and energy. He is called on for exclusive events that range from BET’s Rap City, MTV’s Summer ’05 Game Riot, Sucker Free Sundays and Hot Import Nights tours, the annual Heineken House Party in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and the Coors Light Temple of Sound in Puerto Rico.
And on the mix-tape circuit, DJ Irie is known for bringing the sounds from the hottest clubs on South Beach to the streets. His Crobar mix-tape is already a street hit, leaving fans anxious for the Mansion mix-tape due to hit the streets this summer. DJ Irie is also about to drop the “Kingz of Miami” mix-tape with Miami’s newest and hottest import, DJ Diesel- aka Shaquille O’Neal.
From dominating the radio waves on Miami’s # 1 station for Hip-Hop and R&B, to commandeering the finest, world renowned nightclubs on South Beach, Irie’s life is non-stop. And that’s just the way he likes it.
